Overview

Find compassion for your imperfect self and allow yourself to fail gracefully!

One of the biggest sources of modern anxiety, perfectionism is a disconnection between self-esteem and self-expectations and you may also be a victim of perfectionism without knowing so. Checking details obsessively, people pleasing, approval seeking, making empty promises, procrastination…etc. could all be symptoms of perfectionism. In chasing perfection, we’ve let perfectionism become a mental cage and set ourselves up for disappointment.

But it’s about time we break free from perfectionism and unlock your true potential. Drawing from over 20 years of clinical experience, powerful personal stories and grounded in Freudian and Adlerian psychology, one of the most renowned psychiatrists in Taiwan, Chun-Chin Chen, will help you understand whether you have symptoms of perfectionism, what type of perfectionism you have, where it’s coming from, and, most importantly, how you navigate through your life with it while helping friends and family work out a solution with their own perfectionism.

This book will help:

- Debunk common perfectionism myths, such as understanding the non-stereotypical habits of perfectionism.

- Find out the root causes of perfectionism, such as conditional love and worth, peer rejection…etc.

- Work out a solution that helps you tackle the issues caused by your perfectionism

- Help others around you to live with perfectionism too!
