Green is a bird who has grown up in a cage. He and his siblings have always believed that flying is an illness. But one day, when Green glimpses the outside world, something within him changes, and his instincts call him to stretch his wings. Once he discovers the joy of flying, he can never return to his cage. Hai is a young boy who is learning to ride his bicycle when Green gets tangled in his hair after being blown by a sudden gust of wind.
Together, Green and Hai learn that chasing freedom means finding adventure and facing unexpected doubts. Each character's courage gives the other strength to keep going, even in the most trying circumstances. Eventually, they arrive at places neither could reach alone.
Inspired by a quote from Chilean director Alejandro Jodorowsky, "Birds born in a cage think flying is an illness."

作者介紹
Bei Lynn (林小杯) enjoys exploring the creative realm with images and words. Her picture books present a delightful fusion of fantasy and reality. She relishes in uncovering the magic hidden amongst ordinary things, such as the blossoming of a flower or a hatchling breaking out of an egg.
Among Bei Lynn’s most notable publications are To Be A Fish, FeiFei and Curly, and Kata Kata Kata. Her works have been recognized by various awards and honors, including Hsin-Yi Children Literature Award, China Times Best Children’s Book of the Year, Taipei Public Library Best Children’s Book, and the Best Chinese Children’s Picture Book of Feng Zikai Chinese Children’s Book Award. She is nominated for the 2026 Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award.
Though not as bouncy as the frog character Bei Lynn herself has created, She hopes that the pen in her hand would never stop dashing across pages with the same exuberance even as she ages.
